The short version
I had lower back pain for about six years. It came and went, then came back, and eventually I stopped expecting it to stop. At some point I changed how I was approaching it, stayed with one approach long enough to see whether it worked, and things gradually improved. I do not live with that pain now.
I wrote down what I was doing while I was doing it, mostly so I could keep track. Later I organised those notes into something another person could follow, which is the program this site sells.
What I am not
I am not a doctor, a physiotherapist, or any other kind of clinician. I have no medical training. I cannot examine you, I cannot diagnose you, and I cannot tell you what is causing your back pain.
I am saying this on the about page, on the homepage, in the FAQ and on the disclaimer page because it is the most important thing to understand about this site. Plenty of health products are vague about the credentials behind them. I would rather be boringly clear.
What I think I do bring
Six years of living with it. That is not medical expertise and I am not dressing it up as such, but it is a real thing that a clinical overview page cannot give you. I know what the repeated cycle of improvement and relapse does to your head. I know what it is like to stop making plans.
The program is not an attempt to replace medical care. It is an attempt to give someone a structure to follow, written by somebody who has been in the same position rather than assembled by a content team.
How I handle anything medical
Where I state a fact about back pain rather than describe my own experience, it is sourced to a recognised health authority and listed on the references page with the exact wording and the date I checked it.
I have tried hard to avoid three things:
- Implying medical authority I do not have
- Promising outcomes I cannot promise
- Citing research that does not actually say what I want it to say
If you spot me doing any of those, please let me know. I would rather fix it than defend it.
About the business side
The program costs money, and I am not going to be coy about that being the point of the site. What I have tried to avoid is the usual apparatus that comes with selling something in this space: there are no countdown timers, no invented scarcity, no testimonials from people who do not exist, and no star ratings for a product nobody has reviewed yet.
If real customer feedback exists later, I will publish it as it is, with the outcome disclaimers it needs.
